Windchill Document Worker

Please see my GitHub to download the free version of the Windchill Document Worker and for instructions on how to use it.
https://escottj.github.io/WindchillDoc2PDF

Project Overview:
Windchill by default does not allow you to publish documents to PDF format automatically without the help of Adobe LiveCycle or Adobe Enterprise Content Management.  The cost of this software often exceeds $10,000 and is just not feasible for most small customers who will only use a very small portion of it's features for publishing.  My Windchill Document Worker is being developed to provide every Windchill customer a low cost and easy to use alternative that also has many more useful features.

Project Updates:
  • April 14, 2017
    • Added remote worker functionality.
      • Office no longer needs to be installed on the Windchill server.  (Windows 10 compatible.)
    • Added watermarking based on state for Word.
    • Added basic picture signature addition functionality for Word.
    • Added ability to upload PDF and/or original document to FTP with credentials.
  • March 10, 2017
    • Added Desktop Integration Attributes updating for Excel.
    • Added user configuration file (XML):
      • to disable/enable debugging,
      • to publish additional file types without the need for additional programming from the developer.
    • Added zip file creation of logs and files on publish error.
  • February 24, 2017
    • Conversion to C# completed.
    • Added logging and debugging.
  • June 3, 2016
    • Added Desktop Integration Attributes updating for Word.
  • May 22, 2016
    • Added PDF conversion for Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and Publisher.
  • April 30, 2016

  • Cover page addition with related information.
  • Emailing of released documents to specific users.
