Song 04: Broken

4/10/2026

The story in this song takes places sometime after Falling Away.

Our protagonist has somehow found a way back but she is still dealing with the darkness. She shares the "cure" which can be used to get rid of the evil that is dormant in everyone else. Tragically, she seems to be too deeply connected to the evil that possesses her and she goes back to it willingly. She doesn't feel she belongs with everyone else anymore. Unfortunately for all the others, the "cure" isn't a cure at all...

Broken:
Don't tell me I'm broken!
Don't tell me I'm broken!

I can see the space between us grow beyond control.
Every time you try to reach me deeper I will go.
You can find the answers down inside my blackened heart.
Take this cure release it or this world will fall apart...

I can feel me fade away.
I can't fight this on my own.
Take my hand, don't look away.
Find my pieces and make me whole...

Don't tell me I'm broken!
If I hear the truth, I won't want to stay.
Don't tell me I'm broken!
Put me back together in another way.
Don't tell me I'm broken.

I can feel my love returning but it's not for you.
Torn between two worlds I'm hurting don't let this be true.
I'm too far gone for saving I'm no longer in control.
This fight's not worth waging I would rather be alone...

I can feel it chip away.
Even with you, I'm on my own.
Look at me, I'm not the same.
If you love me then let me go...

Don't tell me I'm broken!
If I hear the truth, I won't want to stay.
Don't tell me I'm broken!
Put me back together in another way.
Don't tell me I'm broken.

Is this my happy ending?
You got what you wanted from me.
Why am I still so lonely?
In the darkness, It's you I need...

The fear leads me back to you.
With you near, I won't let go.
In your grip, it feels so true.
I am yours so take me back home...

Tell me I'm broken!

Tell me I'm broken!
I already know the truth, why I'm this way.
Tell me I'm broken!
Break me into pieces and throw me away.
Tell me I'm broken.

It's okay.
Tell me I'm broken.
